1/ He rose early and prayed in solitude.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” Mark 1:35
2/ He went up to the mountain and prayed all night.
“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.” Luke 6:12
3/ He submitted to the Father’s will.
“Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.’” Matthew 26:39
4/ He prayed with loud cries and tears.
“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission.” Hebrews 5:7
5/ He gave thanks before the answer came.
“So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, ‘Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that You sent Me.’” John 11:41-42
6/ He prayed in the spirit of forgiveness.
“Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’” Luke 23:34
7/ He interceded for His disciples.
“I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.” John 17:11
