Testimony of Pastor Gia-cơ – From Gangster to Pastor

Pastor Gia-cơ, a man of the Bru tribe, grew up in a life of chaos and violence. Raised without parents, he lived a wild life, becoming a feared gangster, drug dealer, and a man known for his violent ways. He fought constantly, drank heavily, smoked, and feared no one. To everyone, he seemed invincible—brave and tough—but inside, he felt empty and lost.

One day, a man told him about Jesus, but Gia-cơ didn’t care. However, his friends were patient, continuing to reach out to him, and eventually, he made the decision to accept Jesus. That single decision changed his life forever. From the moment he accepted Christ, he felt the peace of God—a peace he had never experienced before. He felt a joy bubbling up inside, something new and indescribable. Slowly but surely, Gia-cơ began to transform.

He became a new man with a new mission. He sought out a church and began learning the Bible, immersing himself in the Word of God. Soon after, he led his entire family to Jesus and started sharing the gospel with his friends—many of whom were gangsters like he used to be. To his surprise, many of them also received Christ.
Not content with just telling his story, Gia-cơ began starting home churches, sharing Jesus with anyone willing to listen. His commitment to the gospel, however, came at a cost. He faced harassment, was thrown into jail several times, and was repeatedly stopped from holding home church gatherings. But unlike his past struggles, these troubles were for the sake of the gospel, and Pastor Gia-cơ never gave up.

In 2018, Gia-cơ, along with his son and granddaughters, joined Pastor David To’s discipleship training program. Deeply inspired by the Word of God and the training they received, they went out and started more five home churches, which have continued to grow. Today, Pastor Gia-cơ’s ministry is thriving, reaching more people for Christ and continuing to expand the number of home churches in his region.
